Deputy Secretary-General

Iris is an IB2 (12th Grader) at Canadian International School this year and has the utmost pleasure of serving as the Deputy Secretary-General for CISMUN IX. Iris started her MUN journey very recently in 11th grade and found it to be an incredibly eye-opening and rewarding experience. MUN gave her the opportunity to dive into what the United Nations was, and the crucial work it did as an organization. She learned to sharpen her researching, presenting, and collaboration skills and immersed herself in global policies that she previously knew nothing about. As Deputy Secretary-General, Iris hopes to encourage students to explore this fruitful organization and maximize their knowledge. Participating in MUN is no easy feat, and she hopes that each delegate enthusiastically takes on this challenge and finds MUN as empowering as she did.

Iris aims to make this conference one filled with stimulating debate, and amazing memories. She wishes each delegate luck in CISMUN IX and hopes that they make the most of every moment.

USG of Finance

Subin is an IB1 student at Canadian International School In Bangalore and is honored to serve as a Head of Finance. She just started MUN when she was in Grade 10 because all of her friends were in MUN and they forced me to join MUN - but now she is obsessed with it. She participated in two MUN conferences as a delegate and one conference as a chair, and now she is serving CISMUN IX as a secretariat. When she joined MUN, she decided to become a secretariat after participating in CISMUN VIII as a chair because she enjoyed leading a committee and she thought "What if I led a MUN conference as a secretary?" She loves and enjoys MUN a lot because it improves her research, communication, and other skills that will be very useful for her future. Hence, she became a secretariat to make this MUN conference memorable and effective. She wishes all delegates to have the happiest MUN conference ever. All the best!

Aaliyah

USG of Marketing

Aaliyah is a senior at Canadian International School and is delighted to serve as the Under Secretary General for Marketing in the CISMUN IX secretariat. She was an avid debater ever since her primary years in grade school, from which her inclination towards public speaking transformed into a passion for MUN. Her journey in public speaking metamorphosed from by-hearting speeches that her father and her would type up for elementary debate events into participating in enlightening arguments about world affairs in high school MUN. For 5 years now Aaliyah has attended several conferences—both local and international— which ignited a passion within her for public affairs, international relations, and global economics. In fact, they drove her to pursue economics at a higher level and involve herself in organizing more conferences to engage the young minds of her generation with the invigorating debates by which she felt captured. She will remain grateful for her experiences as a delegate, chair, and now a secretariat member since they make her strive to be a confident, conscious, open-minded, and knowledgeable learner. She hopes to create an accepting and engaging environment for the delegates to facilitate insightful discussion at the upcoming conference.

Deethya

USG of External Communications

Deethya is an IB2 student at Canadian International School Bangalore and serves as the Undersecretary General for Communication for CISMUN IX. She started participating in MUN in 8th grade and got to experience both the thrill of a new conference and the excitement of an international conference. Talking to like-minded people as well as hearing other perspectives allowed her to expand her worldview and begin her journey with MUN. Given that she has always had an interest in politics and debate since childhood, engaging in MUN was undoubtedly a perfect opportunity for her. Being able to advocate for issues she has a passion for, as well as challenge herself and speak in favor of things she does not necessarily agree with, was the perfect balance between having a difficult task and an enjoyable one. After experiencing what it was like to be a delegate, she wanted to venture into a new world by organising the conference itself. Being able to work together with her peers and learn more about global politics has certainly been a very valuable experience for her. She hopes to work as hard as she can to help create an interesting, enjoyable and challenging conference so that she can give delegates the MUN experience that she had.

Over the last 6 years, Srivishnu has attended 8 conferences, both as delegate and chair, to experience the enriching and productive debates that are sparked in any committee. Joining MUN has undoubtedly opened his eyes to international issues and allowed him to familiarize himself with policy-making, a field of great interest to him. Srivishnu is honored to serve as the head of logistics and to help CISMUN IX attendees feel the same MUN magic he loves to be a part of while debating on pressing world issues. He has a vision of making this year’s MUN conference a seamless, valuable learning opportunity for all, efficiently bringing together different, international perspectives and cultures into one conference.
