Hence, it is with immense honour that we announce our well-versed, diligent and committed team of Student Officers, who will be spearheading the conference's progression and evolution across the 3 days. Student Officers have impressively and remarkably produced highly comprehensive, illuminating and enlightening research reports covering an extensive range of topics and implications to enhance your preparation. Treesha is a grade 12 student at Canadian International School and is extremely thrilled to be chairing the Disarmament & International Security Committee for CISMUN IX. Since grade 8, she has been intrigued by and interested in politics and world affairs and Model UN seemed like the perfect place to develop her interests further. Her first conference experience was better than she could have imagined and she left with lifelong friendships and a unique perspective. In fact, it sparked her desire to pursue a career in law. Now having attended five conferences as a delegate, she hopes to translate the skill gained in her role as chair. MUN allowed Treesha to step out of her comfort zone and she hopes it does the same for the delegates of DISEC, with stimulating discussions and memories to last a lifetime. After all, M-U-N times are F-U-N times!

Nivrti is a Grade 10 student at Canadian International School, and is beyond delighted to have her first charing experience as the co-director of the UNSC! Having attended three MUN conferences as a delegate, and one as a press member, the experience she has acquired throughout her MUN journey has served as a complete inspirational shift, helping her properly understand real-world issues in subject matters she never dreamed she would be able to offer an opinion on and forced her to get out of her comfort zone when sharing her own ideas. Nivriti aspires to be impartial and inclusive throughout the conference, ensuring that all delegates are able to project their ideas with a sense of respect and formality - something she truly loves about MUN. Nivriti wishes the sincere best to all delegates, and she would right put it, “All eyes are on you!”

Rishikesh is a sophomore at Greenwood High International School. Having delegated and chaired at over 20 conferences, he has been placed in essentially every MUN he has delegated. Rishikesh is known by schools as one of the Outstanding Delegate award winners at Harvard MUN India 2022. He has chaired 4 different conferences, including GWHMUN and TISBMUN to name a couple. Aside from MUNs, Rishikesh is pursuing a career in Sustainable Energy Engineering and Innovation and is an avid applied science and mathematics student. He works as a staff writer at an economics publication nonprofit and is pursuing a diploma in ABRSM piano. He is beyond honored to serve as a Student Officer of the United Nations Security Council at CISMUN IX. He hopes to bring the intensive debate of the Bangalore circuit to the forefront of this committee, to shape the viewpoint through which delegates can explore the world of international affairs, and global politics, and become engaged global citizens. Vansh Abrol is a grade 11 IB student at Greenwood High. He's also the currently serving MUN Prefect of the same. A figure who is popular across the Bangalore circuit, Abrol has recently gathered a bit of a name in the circuit for his antics in committee sessions. From portraying Shashi Tharoor as immaculately as ever to conducting riots in committee sessions, he will keep you entertained till the very last second. Along with entertainment, Vansh is heavily equipped with extensive MUN experience, attending over 14 conferences since 2018. He has received placements in DSMUN, IMUN, IIITA-MUN, HMUN, GWHMUN, SNISMUN, CJCMUN, and GEARMUN. Apart from MUN, he has great interests in Current Affairs, history, and sports. Vansh sincerely looks forward to welcoming all the delegates for a conference full of intensity!

Sakshi is a grade 11 student from Canadian International School Bangalore. This is her first year at CIS although she has been a part of MUN since 9th grade. She found MUN as a great way to have exposure to international relations, conflicts, and affairs all over the world. Having participated as a delegate in a few MUNs, she has developed her debating skills. The conferences she attended motivated her to take on an even bigger challenge which is chairing the 9th iteration of CISMUN. Sunav is a passionate MUNner who studies at Neev Academy. He loves meeting new people and learning about international law through MUN conferences. In the Bangalore MUN circuit, he loves to participate in crisis committees and Security Council agendas. In his free time he loves meeting new people and spending time with his friends. Aïnhoa is a grade 11 student at CIS. This is her 8th year at CIS, however, she only started MUN two years ago to challenge herself, start expressing her opinions on current world affairs and to enhance her debate, research, writing, and public speaking skills. Having participated in numerous online/offline conferences as a delegate and chair, Aïnhoa believes she still has a lot to learn! Aïnhoa is a firm believer of the idea of continuous growth, which she hopes can become more prominent amongst delegates looking for inspiration or progress. She is sincerely honored to serve as a chair for UNESCO at CISMUN IX and looks forward to witnessing fruitful and intense debates. Sujin is an 11th-grade student at Canadian International School Bangalore and the chair of the UNHRC committee for CISMUN IX. She has six experiences at MUN conferences, with her journey starting in 2020. She developed her skills as a delegate through speech and collaboration. These experiences helped her to grow her leadership skills in a team and gave her an opportunity to be the chair of the CISMUN 2023. She will support delegates to write better resolutions and help voice opinions and looks strongly upon cooperative resolution-making. Therefore she wishes delegates to have the best memories and good luck at this conference with the theme of Nurturing and Global Harmony.

Rithwik is a grade 11 student at Neev Academy. He discovered MUN in the seventh grade when he joined the MUN club at his school. He quickly grew passionate about it, and has attended various conferences and serves as the co-president of his school's MUN club. He believes that MUN develops critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills, all of which are essential. Over the course of the conference, he hopes to meet others as passionate as him and observe and participate in valuable conversations.

Arshia is a grade 10 student studying at CIS, and is ecstatic to be a chair for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime at CISMUN. Arshia started participating in MUNs on a whim, but it soon became an obsession. She has participated in 4 MUNs as a delegate and one as a chair. She realises the work that goes into attending and participating in a conference, and that participating in MUNs teaches participants multiple learning that can help them in future endeavours. Arshia hopes delegates in her committee will learn something new, something they will carry with them for the future.

Shreya is an IB1 (Grade 11) student at the American School of Bombay and is honored to serve as the EC chair. She attended her first MUN conference in grade 8 because numerous older students told her what an intellectually stimulating experience it was. She has thoroughly enjoyed attending them ever since. Shreya loves MUN conferences because they force delegates to remain calm in the face of unpredictability, tactful when trying to form allies, and well-prepared when defending their arguments and stances. As a result of participating in MUN, Shreya has become a critical thinker, a better public speaker, and more diplomatic. MUN is an activity she encourages everyone to participate in at least once. It teaches participants to think analytically, communicate with their fellow delegates, and devise solutions swiftly when problems occur. Through the duration of the CISMUN conference, Shreya hopes to encounter both like and differently-minded delegates who are there to give their best shot at MUN regardless of whether they are new or seasoned delegates. She hopes that CISMUN is an intellectually stimulating experience and, most importantly, a fun experience for all delegates. All the best!

Aïnhoa is a grade 10 student at Canadian International School Bangalore. This is her 7th year at CIS, however she only discovered MUN this year. She signed up for the MUN club because she thought it could be a way to start expressing her opinions on current world problems, conflicts and affairs as well as help build her debate skills, research skills, writing skills, and public speaking skills. Having participated in very few conferences as a delegate, Aïnhoa is still new to MUN. However, the conferences she attended motivated her to take on an even bigger challenge. This challenge consists of serving as a chair for CISMUN VIII. She is honoured to take on this role and hopes to witness fruitful and interesting debates. Harshita is a student at the American School of Bombay. She is currently in 10th grade and is honored to serve as a Chair for the Security Council committee. She has taken part in over 6 MUN conferences and is beyond excited to attend and Chair her first CISMUN conference. She started taking part in MUN conferences because she has always been passionate about voicing her ideas and opinions. Harshita has also been passionate about debate from a young age, and this led her to join her first MUN conference. Harshita enjoys doing various activities apart from MUN like dance, robotics, and service. These activities and passions have helped her build skills like time management, leadership, and critical thinking. Harshita is thrilled to be chairing in CISMUN, and is looking forward to a fruitful debate.

Advait is an IB1 (grade 11) student at the Canadian International School, Bangalore with a passion for Current Affairs and it’s impact on the masses. In line with his passion he has been participating in MUNs and is a seasoned delegate having participated in six MUN conferences, since 2019. Advait has honed his debating skills. Collaborating with his various teammates over the past MUNs has helped him learn along the way. He feels honored to chair his first MUN conference here at CISMUN VIII, and looks forward to providing an enjoyable MUN experience to other delegates.

Neil is currently a Sophomore at the American International School of Chennai and has been there for five years. He has attended MUN for four years, and during that time, he has taken part in ten conferences. Coming from those experiences that were rich in knowledge and debate, Neil is honored to attend CISMUN as a chair and hopes that all delegates have an exciting and fun experience at SPECPOL. Neil first got the opportunity to attend MUN during 6th grade, when it came up as a club to attend. From these years of experience, Neil has furthered his passion for debate, discussion, and world events that help understand the situation that our world is in today. Moving forward, he hopes that through CISMUN, he can help delegates forge great memories and will make SPECPOL a committee to remember!

Aaliyah is a junior at Canadian International School and is delighted to serve as a student officer for the SPECPOL committee at CISMUN VIII. She has involved herself in MUN for four years now and has attended several conferences, both local and international. Her experience in prior conferences as a delegate have ignited a passion within her for public affairs, international relations and global economics which drove her to pursue economics at a higher level in the IB diploma. She will remain forever grateful for her experiences at MUN since they shaped her into a confident, conscious, open-minded and knowledgeable human being. This is her first time serving as a chair and she looks forward to creating an accepting and invigorating environment for the delegates to run an insightful debate.

Arshia is a grade 9 student at Canadian International School Bangalore and is honored to be one of the chairs for UNESCO at CISMUN. Arshia has been in 4 Model UN’s in the past 3 years, starting in grade 8. She started with MUN, wanting do something outside her comfort zone, and realised that it was rather fun, MUN helps strengthen core skills like public speaking and critical thinking, something that delegates can carry for the rest of their lives. MUN also helps delegates diversify their information, and meet people from different backgrounds, this is what CISMUN also helps to enrich. Arshia hopes the delegates have a good time in the conference, as a whole and hope that each delegate leaves learning something new. She wishes the delegates the very best!

Sujin is a 10th-grade student at American International School in Chennai and the chair of the UNHRC committee for CISMUN VIII. She started MUN in 8th grade to learn and be aware of social issues with her own solutions, also learn useful skills of writing the speech and resolutions. She had four experiences of MUN conferences from 2020. She developed her skills as a delegate through the speech, collaboration, and ideas of solutions to solve and overcome the social issue from her committee. These four experiences helped her to grow her leadership skills in a team and caused her first opportunity to be the chair in the MUN. She supports delegates to write better resolutions with basic ideas on her topic and helps delegates to make speeches of their opinions. She has a goal of making the best MUN experience in the CISMUN VIII with her improved leadership skills with delegates. Therefore she wishes to delegates have the best memories and good luck at this conference and develop delegate's skills through this invaluable conference.

Sinji is a Grade 10 student at American International School Chennai and is sincerely esteemed to serve as one of the deputy chairs of the UNESCO at CISMUN VIII. She has participated in a total of three MUN conferences until now as a delegate, and this is the first time to participate as a chair. Learning global issues from different perspectives as living in differently-cultured countries, she joined the MUN with an interest to learn international diplomacy and current rising issues in different countries. During the three years of joining MUN, she has seen significant development in her research skill, quickness in communication, as well as leadership skills by working as the main submitter of a team. In CISMUN VIII, she wishes to support delegates to enjoy the conference and gain fruitful experience for further improvement.

Maya Raghurman is a freshman at the American International School of Chennai. This is her fourth year in Model United Nations and her very first CISMUN. She joined MUN in sixth grade and has participated as a delegate in 6 conferences so far and chaired 2. Joining MUN has helped her become enthusiastic about solving world issues and has opened her up to many new ideas and perspectives. As a student officer, she is hopeful that this CISMUN will allow her to help delegates and is hopeful that all delegates and student officers will have a productive debate and pass many resolutions during CISMUN VIII.

Subin is a Grade 10 student at Canadian International School In Bangalore. She started MUN in Grade 10 and she participated in two MUN conferences until now, she participated in MUN as a delegate only but now she is participating in CISMUN as a chair. She joined MUN because her friends forced her to join MUN. But meanwhile, she wants to improve various skills through MUN. She could improve her research skills, debate skills, and public speaking skills through MUN conferences. Now she is enjoying MUN a lot. She desperately wanted to become a chair because it is a great opportunity to improve her leadership skills. She only has a few MUN conference experiences however, she knows how to help other delegates and give advice. She will give her best efforts and she wishes all delegates do their best for CISMUN.

Sanjay is a Grade 9 student at Mallya Aditi International School and is honored to serve as the Co-Chair for the United Nations Office of Drug and Crime (UNODC) for the 8th Installment of CISMUN. Building his prime exposure to Model UN (MUN) through CISMUN VIII, he is exhilarated to chair the UNODC this year. He first started his MUN career in 2020, participated in 2 international and 5 national conferences as a delegate, and received numerous placements as well. During his journey, he honed his public speaking skills and built a strong command of international law and global politics, propelling him to spearhead training for high school delegates at Mallya Aditi and to take an active role in the club. Going from a reserved pupil to an individual, who articulates his opinions succinctly by virtue of debate. He believes that MUN is one of the few opportunities in high school, where you can assert yourself as to what you want to be, and can learn to voice your opinions confidently. Sanjay wishes that delegates take this conference to develop a new lens through which they view the world, and shape themselves as enterprising, mindful leaders in the future.
